Meet Beau
Beau's upbringing on a mixed cropping, cattle, and sheep farm in Werris Creek, NSW, ingrained in him a deep understanding of agricultural practices from a young age. Spending countless hours alongside his father, Beau assisted with farm tasks and cultivated a vision for managing his own farm one day. However, this dream was temporarily shelved when his family relocated to Brisbane for his education during his teenage years.
After completing his studies, Beau embarked on a different path, pursuing his passion for breaking in, training, and competing with polo ponies on an international scale. Despite enduring a few broken bones along the way, Beau gained invaluable experience in the equestrian world before eventually returning to Australia.
Beau and his wife, Nicole, now own Blue Hills a boutique horse and cattle operation outside of Warwick, QLD. Beau's extensive knowledge and hands-on experience make him a valuable asset in addressing the evolving needs of farmers and livestock handlers and identifying easy, practical and safe solutions for both the handler and livestock.
Our Story
The concept for StockProtecta originated from Beau's years of frustration with the arduous and time-consuming task of attaching traditional rolls of plastic and rubber sheeting to portable yards when preparing for breaking in horses and working with cattle. The screws used to attach these sheets, not only ended up protruding and posing safety hazards but also reduced the portability of the yards. This sparked Beau's need to find a better solution.
After scouring the market for a solution without success, Beau shelved the idea until fate intervened. Several years later, a friend noticed the plastic sheeting on a camp drafting arena and suggested creating clip-on panels from similar material. This serendipitous encounter reignited Beau's quest to develop a practical, user-friendly and safer solution for stock yards.
Partnering with an Australian manufacturing company experienced in producing recycled plastic products, Beau, his wife and the StockProtecta team embarked on a collaborative journey to bring StockProtecta to life. Drawing from their own experiences and insights from farming, they worked closely with designers and their manufacturing partner for over a year to refine the product and ensure it met Australian standards for impact and penetration.
